Why we must follow up Digital Safety Measures?

Like some Physical system (a Jewelry store, Grocery store or Dispensary shop etc.) there is a risk that someone will steal things and in Physical World that random guy is called a “Thief”. Similarly, In Digital World there is a risk that an anonymous individual can steal someone’s data digitally using digital tools or techniques and that individual is being called a “Hacker”. In this way, it becomes very crucial to save your digital system properly. In Simple wordings, you can say “DATA is more important than a Bitcoin.” Because it is not just up to stealing data, it becomes very dangerous when it is sold on Dark Web (a digital world where every illegal activity is performed).

Most Important Digital Safety Measures

1.Public Wi-Fi – a dangerous deal with greed

It is a very common problem that whenever we install a package on a local network, it doesn’t provide any special benefit, the signal speed is seen as low or the package expires before the expiry date. To deal with this problem, the internet user uses a free Wi-Fi internet available in his area (local Wi-Fi), which we call Public Wi-Fi. But by using this Wi-Fi, you can face unsafe zone, that’s the reason, you can become a victim of hacking. In fact, whenever we use such a free Wi-Fi, Internet Service Provider (ISP) can get full access to our Mobile system from us unintentionally, due to which they can access our online or offline data, due to which we can lose control over data and become a victim of hacking. Therefore, you should always choose an ISP (Wi-Fi, SIM network) whose security is strong.

Basic settings of a Wi-Fi which you must consider before using:

i.Use unique name for Wi-Fi

For instance, if your wi-fi provider name is “Starlink-3891” don’t use this name directly because it makes it easier for hackers to get into your ISP panel, instead you can use your name like “JohnSmithNet”

ii.Use Strong Password

If your admin panel is 192.169.18.1 don’t use it directly as your password or don’t use weak passwords like 12345678 Use strong passwords like John578393 etc.

iii. Enable WPA3 or At Least WPA2 Security

Maybe you have heard about end-to-end encryption. It is a type of security which makes you more secure in case of losing data to third Party entity. So, make sure to use WPA3 security or more advanced.

2.Surplus Links – Unaware from basic info

The website links which look in different than normal are Surplus links. For example, such web links contain random numbers or irrelevant names etc. Scams are everywhere. Have you ever received messages from someone who is claiming that if you will open/visit this link you will get free money or you will win a lucky draw. Remember the basic rule of Internet World, “There is no concept of Free Money”. You have to give your time, efforts or even money in trading in order to make some money. Otherwise, you are just exploring Scammer’s websites day by day.

3.Ad Stream – a website full of ads

On many websites for example movie websites, third party websites selling software etc. You see many abnormal ads these are not like Google ads. Did you notice that you immediately jump to some random links if you click on download movie or software etc. Although these websites use Proxies so that they could not be block by their opponents who they are following but in most of the cases these websites are created by hackers to steal your data by providing you some services. Have you ever thought that you jump up to multiple unknown links by just clicking on one ad? In case of Google AdSense or other verified ad monetization platforms you just visit one link. So, Stay Educated, Stay Safe!

4.Strong Password – ultimate step towards security

Creating a Google Account for first time or other social/finance accounts for multiple times you need a Password. So, choose or create it wisely. The identification of a strong password is that it must be at least 18 in length. Use upper case/ lower case letters, numbers, special characters like @ * & ^ $ %^ etc. For example, a strong password for this weak password “password123” looks like “P@ssW0rd#Secure!”

5.Two-Factor Authentication – stop them before it happens

There are some applications which allow you to use 2-Factor Authentication (verification from email or number etc.) to log in to your account. For this you enable the 2-factor authentication in your application setting or use Google authenticator app. This makes you secure as you are the one who just receive code in your Gmail account for verification. Otherwise, you can face irrelevant activities in your account but remember that it all depends upon your app settings.

6.Bring up to Code – The hallmark of an educated user

Every app or software companies update their code for latest security techniques. If you keep your apps & software updated it becomes very difficult to hack your system. Many App stores (Google Play store, Microsoft store etc.) allow you to enable automatic updates to keep you up-to-dated with the latest update installations. Otherwise, you can do it manually.

7.Secured Websites – a basic recognition

Whenever you visit our website tharkitrader.com In the browser search bar section you see the full address of this website which looks like https://tharkitrader.com/ here the Prefix “https” ensures that the website is secured. But if you see only “http” then it can make your system unsecured. Other security measures for secured websites are that you can make sure that a website has basic pages like privacy policy, disclaimer, about us etc., not giving you unauthentic information, ensures your data security.

8.Firewall Software – a better decision

If you think that you are a busy person in case of using internet or you feel insecure even after applying safety measures, you can use a legit and authenticated firewall/antivirus software to clean up your system and for finding errors. As you read earlier many software comes up with third party tools so before installing software in your system do your own research by regarding the safety tips which we have discussed.

Whenever we create an account, it is very common problem that we screenshot the password or save password in our device so that we can easily access it. Saving password on any digital system which is connected to internet is very dangerous. Especially in case of Finance or Money Exchanges. You should write it down on your paper and again make it secure by saving it on safe place.

11.MYOB – Manage your own Bank

Especially if you are running any online business or managing your own account in trading you should use a low cost but separate mobile phone, a special Gmail account and just financial wallets on that Phone. It will increase your security up to 99% but make sure that you just use it for financial transactions not for other social activity.

12.Read Receipts – a brief look to Privacy Settings

Downloading a lot of applications and software in device make it slower. You can uninstall not-in use applications or stop force in their settings to save battery drainage and boost up your device. It’s very necessary to trash the apps which you don’t need anymore. But don’t let your Experience heavy on Security.

14.Unwanted Data – Clear Cache and Browsing history

We use browsers many times to access web pages, verifying accounts, learn something new etc. But have you ever thought that when you access a website it leaves its footprint/cache in history. So, make sure to clear it at least once per week. It will boost up your device life and will make your internet error free.

15.Duck Duck Go – a light weight and safe browser

It’s not a paid marketing but you can say it is a marketing of my experience I have used multiple number of Browsers. Promising more valuable results but every one of them comes with some errors like inappropriate ads but with no tracking system, automatically jumping to spam links, more cache production, more space etc. “Duck Duck Go” browser proved to be a different kind of experience. Use it at once and you’ll thank me later.

16.Check Reviews – Read over Greed

It’s very difficult to check the authority of any digital product before downloading. For example an app, software, code, antivirus software and especially an app who convinces you to earn cash etc. but there are some options available through which you can verify the authenticity and eligibility of that specific software. One of the best options is “Reviews” Different online stores like Play store, App store etc. have created the Reviews option generally called “Comment” section where people tell their experience for that product. You simply have to apply some Mathematics. Analyze how many numbers of people are giving what kind of comment on that product. If more than 50% People are in the favor of that product then it’s clear that that product is really valuable.
